ecwoodburn. Except I can't swing dance. She tried to teach me some. But I wasn't QUITE with it.
THAT's the mix I haven't made. Good dance music. And not necessarily modern stuff, like R&B or hip hop...soul music. OOh. And Barry White. And D'Angelo. And Curtis Mayfield. And P-Funk! Uncut Funk! The Bomb! Larry Graham too! And Sly. What else.....Stevie Wonder. Otis Redding.

Y'see, I love punk! But...it doesn't make me dance like soul music. Maybe the ideology's not there, but I love the danceability factor.

Date: 2003-09-23 08:18 am (UTC)I'm a big fan of Philly Soul - the Stylistics, the Manhattans...and of the stuff that Gladys Knight & the Pips did in the 1970s...that's all I can reccomend, since you already brought up James Brown, Stevie, Otis, etc. Maybe Solomon Burke and Wilson Pickett belong in there, too?
