OK, I'd want the computer and 'net access, but only for music purposes. All my favorite people would be there with me. And oh gosh darn, people I didn't like wouldn't be able to find me. What a shame. The violin, of course, would also go with me in this case.

Did I mention all my favorite people? s:)

Yes, the whole birth control thing sounds like a good plan. *whistles innocently* As does sunblock, since I burn easily, and bug repellant.

Camping equipment. Hiking boots, sleeping bag and/or blankets and pillow. Lean-to or similar structure with an open (but screened-in) side (with door) for nice weather. Tent for when I want to spend an evening elsewhere. Kitchen facilities of some sort. Appropriate clothing.

Books. Candles. Sand toys. Hammock? I've always wanted to try sleeping in one.

I think that covers it. s:)

Among other things...

My sweetheart, and condoms (lots of time to play, but need some population control). A deck of cards. A tarot deck. Dante's Divine Comedy.

I assume palatable food and clean drinkable water are plentiful; if so, some basic cooking gear (pot, saucepan, spatula, spoon, knife, fork, spices). If not, I'm not going there...

Do I get high-speed internet access?

a cellphone, a boat, a gps guide and other navigational equipment so as I could get OUT of there whenever I pleased, and find the nearest resort, or my way the hell back to civilization. I would be the crazy girl piloting a sailboat into New York Harbor.

or, if I'm looking for a few days to myself: notebooks, pens, all the books I haven't been able to get to, my entire music collection (minus the vinyl, for fear of meltage), in addition to the necessities: food, water purifier, medicine, shelter of some sort, and some as-yet-unnamed handsome male to help me pass the lonely hours (and condoms, if I am ever able to find a guy).

You know it. And I'll make sure it's one of those pda-phone combos, and get unlimited internet access too.

what? me? tied to creature comforts? nahhh....

and I misunderstood - when I heard 'desert island' I figured 'alone & stranded.'

(and to answer [livejournal.com profile] lwoodbloo's question: I'd need to take little day trips to occassionally get off the island. to shop. to explore. to visit family. you know, that stuff. )

Desert island with the option to come and go as we please? Hehe.

If that's the case, here's what I would bring:

- hammock, tent, good padded sleeping bag
- several good books by my favorite authors
- fave cds, cd player or an mp3 loaded ipod (now if only i have one ;p)
- sunscreen (lots of it), aloe
- several swimsuits, tee shirts, shorts, loose pants, plenty of clean underwear
- toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss -- must maintain good oral hygiene!
- a good facial cleanser, toner and soap
- bug spray
- floatable raft
- contact lens, glasses, a razor, tweezers and mirror
- darn good food and sport drinks!
- telescope, candles
- good pair of sneakers and flip flops
- compass

lol, except for the hammock, sleeping bag, raft and telescope, i think these are stuff i'm bringing with me when i go on vacation. ;p

Lol! What number 5?

Except for the telescope, hammock and tent, all this would fit in one bag!!

To be honest, I first read the sentence as "Dessert Island." Yeah, my mind is on food -- trying to decide what I want for lunch. Made it as far as: definitely wanting 1 passionfruit green bubble tea. But a substantial meal that will hold me over till dinner: ?

I would like it on the record that there was no limit. But the practicality some people are displaying is very dismaying. More sex! More chocolate!

AND NO INTERNET ACCESS!
