Things are going well now.
For those of you in the know? Writing project is out the door with my editor. I can't believe it!
That was friday. Very enjoyable. I really just buckled my ass to the chair and finished it off. There are a couple of things I need to do, like rewrite a part. But it's off! Manny and I got to sit and just talk junk for a while as well, I watched him and my friend perry battle it out in chainmail, this funky miniatures game we've got. It's classy, very classy. I'm probably gonna play some myself.
moon_beam talked me to sleep that night. She sounds SO cute on the phone. We talked for like two hours which leads me into....
Saturday was the home game, and everyone was really on point this week. I was really gung ho, didn't even mess about with the computer during breaks, which was something Manny had issues with, and I'm glad that I was able to be more social. We also had fruit instead of fried stuff as snacks, which was REALLY nice. Oranges=yummy. We ended really early, which I was surprised at. I didn't mention before, but I was up at 7 that morning to do some stuff that needed to get done, and since I was going to be out all sunday, there was no chance to get it done before. So bear in mind, I'm working with, oh, three hours of sleep. We finished, people were hanging out, and we watched stuff on newgrounds.com for a while. Then, perry, manny, Dmitry, and paul sat down and started to play some more chainmail. Manny's girl nessa was there, and she was TIRED. Manny broke off the game to be with her, and I was crashing, so everyone but dima left, because he has the longest trip. I sat up with him for awhile, kinda sprucing up before I knocked out. I went to bed at like 1230. EARLY! We left the windows open....bad idea, as I sit here sneezing and coughing today.
Got up sunday morning, went to the 9th ave food festival with
penchantnyc,
saintlex among others whose lj names I don't recall. Check out Jason's for the real dirty dirt. After the food fest, I hopped on the train and boogied down to union sq. park, where I waited for my cuz. Walked around there for a bit, almost walked into this taller blonde lady. I took a closer look....wearin' a hentchmen button. Hmmm. I went over to talk to her.
Me: Pardon, but you look REALLY familiar.
Her: I see you're wearin' a dirtbombs t shirt, I'm wendy case from the paybacks.
Commence fanboy freakout.
I complained that I couldn't get the record, for which wendy cursed up a storm. I told her that I had an internet buddy from Detroit (Hi jen!) and that I had warned her that I was going to give her a hug. Which I did. She's SO tall! I babbled about how much I loved the band, etc, etc. You know how it goes. Met up with H and we went over to the venue. She went on line, and I went upstairs. My partner was cool, her name was jacinda. Pretty name, if a bit quiet. She loosened up, cos let me tell you, nothing catalyzes a friendship better than a frank discussion of the use of lube. While doing our job, I met up with Wendy agaIn, now wearing PLATFORMS! Like she needs tallness. So, we're watching the Star Sparkles, the openers....oh yeah. Very nice. Ladies, scruffy, kinda well dressed thin boys. Go salivate some more. They sound replacements-y, with some stiff little fingers in the mix too. Then the paybacks came on, and they were killin' it. I was displeased though, because the crowd reaction was not what I hoped it would be. I wanted the entire crowd to burst into flames. So I'm looking out over my table, and there was this asian guy there, lookin' kinda familiar, then I look over a minute....Jason, from the Von Bondies was there! The asian guy was Don Blum, the drummer. I got a chance to talk to Jason some. COol guy.
I went home, talked to manny, and knocked out.
Thus, my weekend.
