I never liked much dylan before. Never ever. But I'm sitting here and just shaking my head. The references he throws in there just as throwaways. I love his voice too, and fuck all who don't.

I'm looking at these pins, the ones you get at indie type shows in the city, you know the ones. Everyone has these punk bands....and I have Husker Du (fuck, how do I make umlauts?), Johnny Cash, and the MC5. [livejournal.com profile] moon_beam, I so should have sent you the mc5 one. Do you want a pic of it, so you can make a button out of it?

Today has been SUCH a lazy day.

I hate to say it, but I listened to some of the stuff Dylan did while he was trying to quit smoking once, and he sounded awful. The cancer sticks give his voice a lot of its unique quality.
'Tis good stuff indeed.

Even if you don't like his music, it is really hard not to love his lyrics. Especially in days like these.
Of course appreciation for Bob Dylan was the closest thing we had to religion in my house growing up.
