Not feeling like the moronic inferno anymore.

I think I'm tired of rehashing my recent problems, so I think I will put them down like any burden. I will walk away for a little bit and deal elsewhen.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] moon_beam is a rock star. Don't believe me? You suck. She's the epitome of awesomeness, and she really REALLY should be an NYU student.

Manny and I had some VERY interesting discussions last night. I am glad for him and his existence in my life.

OOH! And, and and, I got to chat with [livejournal.com profile] queenofennui as well. Southern accents are dead sexy. And, NB, he's STILL a schmuck. And Bev's right...you CAN do that if you want, and if you wanted to do it again, you could as well. Just be more selective, willya? *hugs*

What all do you know about Long Island University? I'm going to Southampton College of LIU for my MFA...

I'm going to be at the brooklyn campus, which is in downtown brooklyn. Same institution, different branch, I fear.

Where's you, NH, that you're at LIU?

And, I finally remembered where your name comes from. Nicky was the piano player for the stones, wasn't he?

Good man. Nicky Hopkins was the session player who played with the Stones, the Beatles, the Who, Zeppelin, etc. I've been using him as my SN for about 6 years, 'cause only the real hardcore fans recognize him. ;)

I graduated last May from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in political science and creative writing. One of my professors suggested that I apply to Southampton 'cause he thought it'd be a perfect match for me. I just got the acceptance letter a week ago, and I'm absolutely thrilled.

I know very little about the Hamptons. Very little about NYC. Very little about graduate school. But I digs it!

Would you recommend going into a graduate dorm my first year (if they have them)? And I'm curious---how often are graduate assistantships offered? That'd be the bee's knees if I was able to score one...

Dorm it. I've always felt that at LEAST for a while, be in the atmosphere. Nothing stimulates me better than being around smart people.

The Hamptons are...well, that's where puff daddy summers. Nuff said? You're gonna LOVE the city, man!

I think you should contact profs who are on campus, see what you can get. It's all about them knowing you.

Drop me an offline with more questions, aight nicks?
