So, a while ago, I was at Kim's window shopping. Kim's is one of my favorite places in the city to spend horrid quantities of cash. They sell those rhino boxed sets sometimes, and i saw one I'd never seen before. Brit Pop, Shoegaze, and Indie...well, I might like some of this...what's this? A switch in the back?

The switch turned on a string of blinking lights behind the "Telephone" sign on an old school brit phone booth. So I bought it on the spot. Honestly, most of this music isn't really me. But what it does have is "Laid" by James, some Oasis, the Mondays, Stone Roses...and Elastica. Mother fuck, did I have a HUGE crush on Justine Frischmann back in the day...and it's awake again. Goddamn, she was hot. There's something about a totally sarcastic nasty singer that makes me wanna...well...you can imagine.

School started tuesday. It's been good so far. I like being back, like my colleagues, and the kids.

And now I'm listening to the Eagles of Death Metal.

whoaaa, the brit box. <3 i love how they went for a few less obvious choices: 'stay beautiful' instead of 'motorcycle emptiness' or anything from 'everything must go', 'you don't care about us' instead of 'nancy boy' or 'pure morning', 'sale of the century' instead of 'inbetweener' or 'atomic'... someone was definitely thinking outside the box on that one. pun unintended. all they're really missing is stereo mcs and republica... sor perhaps flowered up's 'weekender' in lieu of them...

and FYI, new EOfDM comes out 10/21... and they have their own breakfast thing on the menu at denny's now.

Hey, the Kim's up here (Broadway at like 113th) is going out of business :( :( but the upside is everything in the store is like 40-60% off. You'd love it. Come up and spend more money! We could hang out too.
