1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Finished the classwork for my master's.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't really make them. I think about them, and they're the usual: lose weight, stop getting annoyed with family. It's a sine wave. Sometimes it's better than others.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Justin and Crystal had a bundle of joy, as did AJ and John, although Alex probably was born in 2005...I forget! But Alex was the first baby in a while that I didn't feel like I scared.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No one blood or really close, but my cousin Helena's fiance, who is as family as family gets, his dad died. That was so sad. He's had a rough two or three years, bad enough to be out of the scope of this thingy.

5. What countries did you visit?
Ditto with mauri. I think Canada at the very least is in order for 2007, and probably Ireland or Mexico, too.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A clearer vision of my future. A winning lottery ticket!

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September...10th. I don't want to think too hard about it. It was the day maureen and I decided to break it off. But the twelfth was also that way. We sat in a cosi and more or less decided that we want to spend the duration together.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finishing my masters. Signing my graduation application.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Never actually talking to Manny. Being wrongheaded about my relationship. Not listening enough or speaking my mind.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
The usual assortment of cold issues. But nothing serious.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
An mp3 player. Lots of music.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Maureen, for listening to me rant about whatever. My family, for dealing with my moods (and oh, do they merit dealing with...). Nicholas, for introducing me to Applewood.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Folks here at work. My aunt. you know who I'm thinking of, Maureen. Them too.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food. Books. Music. Electronics. Foolishness!

15. What events did you get really, really, really excited about?
My birthday, Matt's birthday, Hannukkah, New Years, Playing with the Wii!

This was maureen's answer, and yet I can't really add to it. Well, and Justin and Crystal's wedding as well.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Carbon Monoxide by Regina Spektor. Born in '69 by Rocket from the Crypt.

17. Compared to this time last year, you are:
Happier or sadder? happier. Definitely happier.
Older or wiser? Older and wiser.
Thinner or fatter? Probably about the same.
Richer or poorer? Ab out to be MUCH poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Travelling. Cleaning my room, which surprisingly makes me very happy.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Beating myself up about stupid stuff.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Serving dinner to the homeless at the atlantic avenue ywca.

21. Did you fall in love in 2006?
didn't need to, as I did that at the beginning of 2004.

22. What was your favorite TV program?
Lost, House, Desperate Housewives.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate well.

Under the Banner of Heaven, Hooking Up, Prime.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery or rediscovery?
Regina Spektor, Rocket From the Crypt.

26. What did you want and get?
An mp3 player. A new suit! Ooh, and it's pretty.

27. What did you want and not get?
memory, a graphics card, a new hdd. Just computer stuff. My wants aren't that huge these days.

28. What were your favorite films of this year?
Notes on a Scandal...I saw some, none were particularly memorable. I loved "We Are Marshall".

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 30, and i had a huge potluck at the house. Lots of folks came and we had a great time. :-)

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Being able to listen better.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
You're joking, right?

32. What kept you sane?
Maureen. My mom and dad (sometimes they were the cause of the INsanity). quiet time. Ken and tracy.

33. What political issue stirred you the most?
Impeachment. regime change in this country. bipartisanship.

34. Whom did you miss?
Jay and Danno. My bad on that. Nick.

35. Who was the best new person you met?
did I meet anyone particularly new this year? You know...I'm not sure.

36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
Take a deep breath. Listen. Give everything a minute and then talk or act.

Oooh, I totally forgot about the weddings of this year. Justin & Crystal's wedding was awesome, as was Anna's! I'm still scarred from Dave and Vica's wedding to think about weddings very positively. :p

*snuggles* I love you.

Honestly, I should have mentioned your wedding as one of the things I was super excited for this past year. You wedding was the first event I was able to go to after getting out of the hospital, and I was just happy to get out and be with friends at such a wonderful celebratiom. :-)

Hope you guys have a wonderful new year!
