One out of three ain't bad.
Sep. 6th, 2005 05:35 pmBut damn.
So I went to LIU today with the intentions of buying books, bribing my fieldwork supervisor with butterscotch brownies (my pg: best evar), and getting a new student ID card.
Well, I bought my books. And it was cheap. $29, new. Which for all of us college students is mad cheap, yo.
The other two things didn't go so hot.
I have NO idea what's going on with fieldwork this semester. NONE. Which isn't TOO bad, because classes don't start until tomorrow. So, not a TOTAL loss there.
However, the matter of the school ID. I know all the security officers at this point, more or less. So, for the two weeks I will not have an ID card (incidentally, exactly how long it will take my letter of credit to arrive from CAEL and for me to pay my fall bill). Good thing I don't use it as a meal card, neh?
I have a certain sense of achievement, just now. I feel good about what I did today. But I can't tell you how pleased I would have been to walk out of the dept office today with a sense of where and when I'd be doing fieldwork. And, of course, my boss got snarky with me about this very topic today, informing me that I would have to "plan school around work, not the other way around". I really wanted to snap back at her, but you know? it's not worth getting pissed off about.
I wrote something fairly recently. It's the beginning of something. I'll post it later.
Marcy Projects, y'all!
