I want to write something.

It's been an odd day. I found out that a friend of the family did something i think is unspeakable. I called dad when I found out, he told me mom had told him already. I asked him if he'd called anybody; he replied that he thought it wasn't his place.

Fan freakin' tastic weekend. I wonder sometimes why I bother getting dressed. PG and I went to the village on saturday and went shopping. I really enjoy shopping for the things I like, it's a good time. I even like clothes shopping, but I rarely end up buying stuff. I don't trust my own taste. I need to buy new shoes, especially. has anyone given DSW a try? How are the prices?

The Manic Street Preachers are amazing. La Tristessa Durera is possibly the most heart rending track I've ever heard. James Dean Bradfield is a disturbingly good singer.

Mr Bradfield=.

Cool as the other side of the pillow.

And. Has every LJ user chosen this mood at least once, or what? I looked it up, btw.

I thought the MSP's lead singer died? Or some sort of tragedy befell the band in some way...

Richey Edwards disappeared in 1995. His body has never been found, and his car was found abandoned near a bridge. While there've been sightings, nothing of substance has been found. Richey was the rhythm guitarist and lyricist for the group...he has an interesting role in the history of the band, something [livejournal.com profile] irnbruise could say more about than I.

They soldier on as a three piece, and a damned good one.

Ah. I saw them in 1996 (the opened for Oasis on the Morning Glory tour) right after Edwards disappeared, you see. There was stuff about him in the writeups of the show.

Know what? You just get cooler all the time. The Preachers rock my damn socks.

I thought that Scotland Yard closed the case with some DNA evidence?

I had not heard that at all. You got a reference for me? Simon Price's book, as of 2002 or so, claimed that he had disappeared and there hasn't been a real sign since his car was found in 1995.

Nope. Turns out I was full of stuffing. No such break in the case has happened.

As an aside, the singer in my band had never heard MSP. Your post caused me to bust out The Holy Bible and blow his mind. Thank you for that.

Oh god. For Revol alone....the whole record is aces. Hard to listen to at places, but an amazing achievement. I'm sorry they'll probably never tour america again. Because I'd like to shake JDB's hand.

I buy school/work/going out shoes at DSW all the time. I've never actually bought sneakers from them, but they have really good prices.

Excellent.

I need:

A pair of decent running shoes, I prefer new balances.

A pair of decent dress shoes. Possibly rockports, I have found I like those, but I also have relatively expensive tastes when I have the money.

That makes sense. I always wondered why when you flipped the pillow over, it was cooler.

Ooh, Holly's rambling again.

And I'm sorry for trying to complain last night. I'm a twit.

tomorrow and lunch: I actually think 12-ish might be my free time. I'll make doublesure when I go into work in the morning

Manic Street Preachers: James was officially declared dead, or at least I think I read that a little while back in Q. I could be wrong.

DSW: love, love, love it. I've bought quite a few pairs of shoes there. :)

Richey, rather. Whatever. The very-likely-dead dude. :)
