Clarification from last post.

You're the drug company putting out a new cancer drug. Pancreatic cancer, in fact. 90% of the time, said drug will drive the cancer from your body. 10% of the patients will suffer a lingering painful death. There's no way to differentiate who will be who.

You, as the drug company, do you put this drug on the market? With what sort of label if you do?

i work for a drug company, probably the biggest.

i think they'd put this drug on the market in a second, given the FDA gives the okay. it's really all about fufilling a need and making $$$ off of it.

then again, drug companies are not interested in curing, they're interested in on-going treatment of diseases and syndromes.

Thanks for the response, and the one on my chili post.

Cannellini, that's my thought for my next pot.

The FDA wouldn't approve it though.

Isnt cancer allready a "lingering painful death" anyway?

I think I've defeated the purpose here. This would not be the first time.

What was the point then? did i miss it?

I mean, if you're gonna die anyway, may as well try everything possible.

I suppose the idea was that "drug is available with massive side effects. AS a medical professional, would you give it to a patient? Or as a drug company, do you market it?"

Not all cancer, but with the exception of a fairly rare form, pancreatic cancer is. This one's a solid give it to 'em unless it's the rare form.
