Movie Review: Overnight.

For those who haven't seen it, The Boondock Saints is a hell of a flick. Vigilante brothers from boston, MA. Ron Jeremy's in it. As are Billy Connolly, Robert Sean Leonard, and Willem Dafoe. Solid, solid action movie with some great dialogue. The Boondock Saints was directed by Troy Duffy, at the time a bartender and bouncer in Hell Lay. Overnight is a documentary about the making of the film and the people surrounding it. I think that the phrase, "Those who the gods destroy, they first make proud" is the very definition of this movie. First time writer, first time director with so much hubris you're surprised that Oedipus himself doesn't come down from Olympus and smack him upside the head for not bringing him waffles.

Suffice it to say, Mr. Duffy's second feature film is still pending, out there somewhere. It's painful, man. He says things that make you want to smack yourself in the head, because there's no sense of proportion. No sense of humility. Let's see, was it telling the co managers of the band Troy's in that they deserve no money for having guided things this far? That was one awful bit. Or telling Miramax to go fuck themselves. That was one too.

All in all, enjoyable, kind of like a really hot bath is, even when you scald yourself.
