lwoodblooOh my lord. Oh SHIT was that a good show. The first two bands were good. KO and the knockouts were amusing as hell, cute lead singer/bassist. She needed a spanking, truth. The vocals were mixed shitty all night, so you couldn't really hear anything too well. But they were pretty good. The drummer was like 6'7 and was playing on what looked like a little kid's kit....funny shit. The second band, bantam rooster, was also good, but plagued with some serious technical difficulties. Someone needs to issue these fuckers some better cables. But they wailed. the lead guitarist is a badass sumbitch, even in glasses. Big black framed ones. Frizzy hair. Then the cobras came on. Rachael Nagy, as usual, is a vision. I think that young women need to take a lesson in sexy from her. Not britney. Her voice is like a siren in the night, and her switching hips contain all the mysteries of the universe. No. I'm not making this up! It's true! They were amazing. They played some new songs, slower ballady stuff. They've got a hell of a band. Maribel's amazing. They've got a new bass man, big eddie. Looks like someone stretched Iggy. It looked like something happened to rachael tho....they didn't play the last 2/3 songs on the set list that I got. :( I hope she's all right. She's tough.
Then we get to the main event. Hoo boy. The Dirtbombs fucking KILLED. They're murderers. Stop them before they kill again. Number one. Mick Collins is a snappy ass dresser. COmes out in a mirrory shimmery shirt, and sunglasses. Which I expected. And black chucks. The ending of the show.....Fuckin' mick was playing his axe with his teeth, the second guy leaned his against an amp for feedback, then just kinda hopped off the stage, chilling in the crowd. Then he came back, at which point the drummer was up in the lighting riser, doing the monkey iggy pop dealio. Then, the guitarist as he came back, decided no, I don't want to play anymore, the drunk guy in front of me and that short blonde guy, they should play. I think it was an e chord. Or maybe I'm just making shit up. Then. THEN the second guitarist and the drummer start wrestling. they knocked over the mike stand, it almost hit us, but me and this girl caught it so it didn't hurt anyone. MY knees were bothering me at this point, so I more or less left after the encore. Not a bad trip home either. And now I'm gonna knock out.
