So, I posted a personal ad. No, you can't see it.

I got a response.

We've been emailing back and forth today.

So I suggest she get on AIM and chat. I give her my IM name, cassikofweejas.

For those of you who don't know, that's an old living greyhawk RPGA character.

How exactly do I explain to this rather delightful sounding young lady that I'm 27 and still play with plastic polyhedrals?

By getting her her very own copy of the SR3 rules, of course ;)

I love you. In an oh so not platonic way.

I'll tell you the same thing I told Nina, which is that 2/3 of the men I've slept with were gamers. Included in that bunch were the best lays I've ever had.

She'll be delighted if she knows what's good for her. ;)

1. I always wondered what your IM name meant...

2. Don't, at first. Be mysterious! Don't volunteer anything.

3. If she does ask, say it has to do with one of your hobbies. But honestly, dude? Would you really want to date a girl who had a problem with gamers/gaming?

I would not associate with such a person, no.

I told her, when she asked, that she'd laugh when I told her.

Didn't think so. ;)

Did you tell her, and did she laugh?

I have not told her yet.

Tell her tell her tell her!

These are important things to find out!

(If it's any consolation, keep in mind that [livejournal.com profile] lite is 29. As in, he is less than a year from 30. Gaming is good for his mental health. s:) )

You, my dear, are not the average woman.

*curtseys* Thankee, I think s;)

OK, maybe it doesn't have to come up right away. But if she's got a problem with you hanging out and playing games with your friends (which is really what it amounts to)...there are worse ways to spend your free time, and she should be reasonable enough to handle that. s:)

(Do we get more details about her?)

I love gamer guys. With a passion deep and true. *caresses her beloved KODT d6*

The oldest gamer I ever met is now in his early sixties and still games three times a week.

If she doesn't like your gamin', forget her. The sooner you tell her, the better. I'm 25 and I still game, and I always will-- I make sure it's one of the first things I mention to a guy, so that if he doesn't like it, I can ditch him before I get attached.

You're dead sexy, and you know it.

Girls with character sheets are eminently fuckable.

I dunno, my now ex boy still collects Transformers...hell, he got me back into collecting them! If she don't like it, she can just bug out. You're better off. And when are you coming West anyway?

Game Night

I think gaoisnurse's game nights are quite similar to other people's poker nights, or football parties. One key difference is that I get some time to myself for reading and nobody asks me to get them a beer.

Gamers are often more intellectual than average joes. "For papa make him a scholar ..." In fact I just watched Fiddler on the Roof again last week on game night.

P.S. "cassikofweejas" sounds like a mangled version of "sacajewa."
