No phone service this weekend.

No internet access for most of this weekend.

My my my. this sucks donkey nuts.

At least I was neither lonely nor bored.

Oh.

Why is it that the computer technology industry can't come up with one single standard for rewritable portable mass storage, a la floppy disks? We all know 1.44mb just isn't enough anymore, and yet we can't come up with better. i remember super drives. Does anyone else? Same form factor as floppy disks, 3.5in, yet they could use disks formatted for 100mb. Amazing! COol! never caught on.

I hate having to burn a cd for 2.5 mbs zipped. Or the 8 mb file that I downloaded at work that I have NO idea how I'm getting home right now.

Thus endeth the sermon.

Poor baby. I'm still phoneless, at least, until tomorrow. No email for awhile, but I can quickly check at work and at the library. I like the library. The library is my friend! Any time you wanna road trip north(west), I got a nice couch all set up for visitors!

USB portable drive. I've seen them in sizes from 32 to 512MB. Keyring sized, pen-shaped, all sorts of variations.

At least, if you have the hardware and software support for it. Ex: Win95 and WinNT do not play nicely with USB. But anything newer than those (Win98/Win2k and up) works.

I was just gonna say that. Although Win98 requires special drivers, but Win2k and XP loads it up without any problems.

I've been using one for months now and had no problems with it. It rocks for carrying files back and forth from work, or getting files from friends computers, or just carrying small programs with you.

Screw that. Gmail all the way. :)

(It'll take attachments up to 10 megs without complaints.)
