May. 12th, 2004 01:03 pmListening to Bill Hicks today, esp when he's talking about the first Gulf war. Shocking, really, how similar the commentary is as to what I'm thinking.
1) A war is two armies fighting. Major conflict? Not so much.
2) A distraction from domestic issues.
3) The one difference? Casualty count.
Why did we think we could walk in here and be lauded as heroes? THEY DON'T LIKE US.
