Burma plays on the 17th of this month. I'm really excited. MofB is the closest to "arty" rock I get, well, besides Beefheart, but it's not like I'm ever gonna see the Captain live. Burma showed me that you can be smart, really smart, and play punky rocky rock the fuggout kind of music. That was the band I thought I'd never get to see, because Roger Miller, the guitarist, he's got pretty severe tinnitus. There are very few moments, musically, that have been a religious experience for me, or close, anyway. Seeing the Stooges was close. Burma with Watt in hell lay with ladyjendifi was perfect, to me anyway. I'm passionate about music, passionate about stuff that I like. And when I heard "That's When I reach for my revolver" off of "Signals, Calls and Marches", it carried me away. The riff roger plays at the beginning, and then Clint's voice..."once I had my heroes, once I had my dreams, but all of that has changed now, they turned things inside out...", it's like a clarion call to me.
