What an evening.

I went to see the dictators last night. That's the short answer to what my night was like. The boys were flawless, sonic bravado evident in their manner and the lightning that shot out of the monitors. Not really, but it's a lovely image. But that was only the beginning. Met this older looking couple when I got into Maxwell's, they were travelling and had just come to new york city to visit...decided to see the dictators. They were awesome! they were real music fetishists like yours truly, and we talked about all kinds of stuff. Keith, the guy, looked real familiar. Couldn't quite place him at all. He had said that he "lost 17 years of his life to rock and roll". So, like the music nerd I am, I asked. What band? Turns out he was the bassist for a band called die kreuzen. Not too familiar to me, but a name I knew. So I asked him questions bout touring in a van, bands he'd played with, etc, etc. You know. Being a music nerd when you've got a good source is hard work! We laughed a LOT! especially during the show, as the dictators can be really silly as shit. Well, I was leaving the show, looking down at my feet, kicking a bottle, when I looked up at a really cute face who was looking down at the bottle. It was much cuter of a scene than I'm painting it, trust me. She had a pierced lower lip and cute hair.....generally, too thin for me, but I made an exception...;-) We chatted a little while waiting for the bathroom...I didn't need to go, but I didnt know how to get back to the path, so janet and keith were gonna show me, which was nice of them. So, like I said, into this girl. Very much. Very cute. I'm babbling. But I digress. I kinda lost her in the shuffle....and then they appeared on the path platform. I was witty and cute, you know, like always. *laughs* No, but i was being cool, and talking bout stuff, and engaging all. Gave her what I thought were a few "c'mere, i got something for you" looks...but she didn't respond. It was late. Mayeb I just looked like a lunatic. Could be. But they got into a diff car than me. I chatted with janet and keith bout the situation, and we agreed to part the ways so I could give her a try. Couldn't hurt. I got out of the train, saw them, and buttonholed her. Here's how the convo went.

Me: Hey, wanted to get a chance to talk some more.
Her: Okay, yeah, just after I go bathroom.
Me: I was gonna ask for your number, so I could call you.
Her: and I'll give it to you...I just don't want to pee on you.

Hilarity ensued. But this guy, he was with her, and I was getting possessive boyfriend vibes from him. Nothing strong, nothing "I'm gonna beat you up if you talk to her more". She went to the bathroom, and I asked him. Yep, they're together. I bopped out at that point. Probably should have stayed, but I wasn't doing anyone any good just then.

But the night didn't end there.

I walked to 14th street to catch a q. This female sat down next to me, and we got to talking. (1) she's plastered. (2) she's far from home. I was the gentleman, I refused to let her go home alone. We talked for a while, although it is far from easy to have a coherent conversation with someone that drunk. I learned far too much about her past, stuff I wouldn't tell anyone....well, I might have already. Thanks for keeping it all under your hat, manny. She unfortunaltely, for me, not her, is seeing someone. Long term. He's far away....I gave her my number. Which might not be the BEST thing to do, but I did it. Oh well. *laughs*

So, a very fruitfilled evening. Pineapple custard to be exact.

so aparently women who are taken by other men are attracted to you? perhaps you give them a welcome break from whatever their boyfriend is like...? and hey, its not wrong of you to give a girl your number who's seeing someone else. you're just giving her an option, thats all. you've then put the dice in her hands :)
