Lord, this is making me sick.
Jun. 5th, 2002 10:05 pmIn a departure from the usual emotional turmoil that marks most live journals I read.....GOD DAMMIT THE NETS NEED TO GRAB A BOARD OR THEY ARE GOING TO WALK BACK TO FUCKING JERSEY.
Ah.
Much better.
They are getting their asses handed to them by shaqueem and the lakers. THERE ARE NO FUCKING LAKES IN LA PEOPLE! I think they should change to the LA Cosmetic Surgeons. Much more represenative of what is excellent in LA. Gah. I guess even if the nets do not win this series (and it AIN'T LOOKING REAL GOOD RIGHT NOW) you have to look at the season as a success. I am proud to say I am not a member of the bandwagon, having witnessed stinka, whoop-de-damn-do, and the Petro years (drazen, rip).
Been thinking about why I do the lifebeat thing lately. Cos I've gotten a lot of flack from abstinence advocates at shows I go to, so I've been thinking about responses. I do not tell people to go have sex, but I think it's irresponsible to allow our youth to go out into the world without any knowledge about safe sex and aids. And with the dumb conservative christians in power in this country, it's up to organizations like lifebeat to do as much education and advocacy as possible. I understand that a lot of kids want to wait till they get married. Hormones get in the way sometimes. And when you find yourself in that situation, half naked, with your SO in your arms, you're in danger if no one has sat down with you/talked with you/provided you with information, and protection. I'm not saying, go out and have sex. I never would. But I would say, don't endanger yourself.
Thus endeth the sermon. Go forth and procreate, if ya wanna.
