I have trouble waiting to happen by warren zevon in my head.

Hour and a half till my birthday. 27 years on this planet. What have I accomplished? What have I done with my life? Will I be counted as a failure or a success?

I want too much. And it's showing lately. bad form, elwood.

If you get a chance, either comment or text message me. It's been a bad couple of days here. I don't really want to go into it, but it's echy.

The Bear

Sometimes you get the bear. You get it in a bum rush and knock it to the floor. The butt of your knife hits it in the snout and you taste its blood, only by accident but you still don't deny loving it. You cut its throat and finally stand. Your hands and arms caked in its blood, you spit. You've won. You got the bear.

Sometimes the bear gets you... Sometimes its from behind. Maybe it makes minced meat out of your hamstrings and laying there prone your devoured alive. It hurts really fucking bad, so much that the pain chokes out your tears your about to cry. Hopeless and almost waiting to die, there can't be anything you can do, can there? Alone, in the woods, being eaten voraciously by a hungry 800lb bear with no remorse in your pleas; all because it needs a snack.

Suddenly you realize you have that trust booey knife. Unsheathed and at the ready and all you have to do is turn around on your own bloodied mangled legs and surprise it. Sure it has fangs, but you have 11" of detroit steele and you know how to use it.

It's crude, but someone once told this to me and it made me feel better.

You're 27 dude, you have experience and compasion. There's no reason on earth why you shouldn't love life. (No not even that.)

So now let me continue on my story...

You're laying there ready to take on that bear. Your legs and back are ripped to shreds, and just as your ready to strike...

I come charging through on a Browning equipped ATV, Danny's on grenades, and Jason's on Flame thrower duty. We've got a medi-kit if you need it... and we're here to haul your ass to a better day.

Long lists of great deeds and accomplishments pale next to a group of people who care about you. And you have that, which even if you could trade in for a fancy car or big-screen tv, you're smart enough to know that you wouldn't want to.
