I hate certain things with a passion.

I love other things just as much.

I love:

The russian army, in abstract. Nothing should scare an opposing army more than the Red Army bearing down on you with General Winter in your face.

What I hate.

STUPID FUCKING MOVIES THAT CAN'T MUSTER THE FUCKING ENERGY TO GIVE FUCKING RUSSIAN FUCKING SOLDIERS FUCKING RUSSIAN ACCENTS!

Is it too much to ask that if you're going to make a movie about the siege of stalingrad, one of the great military triumphs of the 20th century, to have the respect for the russian soldiers who kneed the nazis in the balls and MAKE THE ACTORS SOUND RUSSIAN? FUCK! I could get people off the streets in brighton beach who sound more russian than Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, and Joseph Fiennes!

Too many people died in that siege for that shite movie to be made.

I think they were going by Hollywood Standard - you know, how so many people in movies who would ostensibly be speaking in a foreign language usually just receive a (Royal Shakespeare Co.) British accent and they call it a day?
