Ah, the transcendent joy of the dictators. Five days, yo. Maxwells, I've never been there. :) Some of my new jersey peeps may be there too....I think9 they will be SHOCKED by the handsome one. Can't wait.

Spent a good chunk of my post party evening chatting with my new friend alice. She's likely reading this so I'll be gentle. ;-) No, but seriously...pretty cool girl. Hope i get to talk to her more. We had a discussion on the whole emo thing....I admitted I didn't know shit, and she explained a lot of stuff. Introed me to a band called Glassjaw. Pretty good. I liked them quite a bit. I find a lot of these guys will kind of establish a groove, and the lyrics kinda are dominant, where in a lot of what I listen to they serve equal duty. It's really cool to hear so much care put into WHAT you're saying. And it's very personal. A lot of the stuff I listen to kind of roundaboutly gets to what the songwriter is feeling. You don't write a happy song when you're sad, you know? But this stuff.....it's kinda like the dagger to the heart of the matter, rather than circling what's pissing you off. It seems very theraputic to me. Three minute long primal screams of agony.

Well, my roses bloomed today. :) Gonna take a pic when I get home tonite and post it.

wow, i really like your description of that stuff!

thats exactly what it is. it's a lot of guys who are tired of shit, and beating around the bush, and "soft lies" that have been spoon-fed to them for years. so they rip their fucking chests open, and throw their hearts on the recording track.

the dagger...ever so right.

hey...PRETTY cool? ;)

ooooooooo, roses!
