Aug. 3rd, 2002 12:28 amIt was supposed to be a real unclefucker of a day. It was hot, and I had gotten very little sleep, and I was going home and doing nothing. I had made no plans, and had no intention on making any. My character was still dead, and I was not in the mood.
So I check my email early. My friend Sean decided to ask EVERYONE we know if they'd toss in cash and stuff to get me resurrected. And they just kept rolling in. People I didn't even know! And people I do know. People who basically said, we don't care. We don't need this crap, as much as we need you back. And it felt really nice. The campaign we play in can be a very selfish and lonely place. And this outpouring of "yeah, I'll help out. He was a good guy" really lifted me. I called my friend who had organized this and told him how much I appreciated it. I didn't take them up on it, though. I told them to make me a good funeral. *laughs* That sounds so morbid.
Then, my friend danny calls. He's home this weekend; not going to see the woman in jersey. So we go out and have dinner in the pissing down torrential rain. Watched the lightning.
All in all, a much better night than what I had planned. Who'da thunk it?
